Registration for the fall is now open and closes April 15th. Returning members are given priority membership during those dates. Prospective members should attend a face to face event: preview tours can be scheduled through the website calendar.

We do not require our members to sign a statement of faith. Our Christian philosophy and culture welcome all families regardless of their diverse home philosophies and cultures.

Member-teachers at Denton Classical Co-op foster the following values in their relationships with each other and with the students.

Gainesville Co Op will meet Tuesday or Thursday determined by member preference after registration closes.

We currently meet Tuesdays for a half day of classes and are scheduled for a full day of classes starting Fall semester of the 2023/2024 school year. Members should expect to be at co-op from 8:45am until 3:30pm.  We have a full year of field trips, nature hikes, and park days which are open for public sign up on our calendar. 

Speech and Debate is part of the co op schedule, exact time TBD after registration closes.

Book club meets the 3rd Friday of every month from 6:30pm-7:30pm.

No, this is a true co-op. You must participate in the full co-op day when your child is enrolled. You must remain on campus the entire time your student does. You are required to lead teach, assist, and have a cleaning duty every semester.

Co Op for the 2023/2024 school year will meet in Gainesville. Membership size will dictate if we meet in a large home (Abby Tree's residence) or a local church.

Our members manage their at-home education in many different ways. However, we ask that all members become familiar with current publishers and philosopies in classical education so that they can most effectively contribute at co-op together. All our classes and curriculum are based on a classical education model that includes the trivium. Circe, Classical Academic Press, Institute for Excellence in Writing, The Well-Trained Mind Press, and other classical education publishers are used to guide our curriculum and scheduling choices.

The parent who primarily helps do the school at home is required to be at co-op when their children are at co-op. This parent will be assigned to lead teach at least one class during our school day, and will assist other classes during the other class periods. Additionally, the parents is responsible for teaching the assigned curriculum material to the children at home during the week. 

Parents will listen to speeches/debates and give constructive feedback.

Children are expected to come to class prepared with the materials listed in their syllabus. Most classes will assign lessons to be completed at home before coming to co-op in order for the teacher to present a relevant and impactful presentation or activity in class.

Early Education Classes require children to follow directions and be kind to fellow classmates. 

Speech & Debate requires students to write original speeches, deliver speeches during club, take appropriate notes, and ask pertinent questions.

There is no tuition cost to attend Denton Classical Co-op. We are a true co-op where parents are the teachers. We place parents in classes that draw on their strengths and we provide training and support in the summer and throughout the year as needed. Therefore we are able to offer high quality classes for free. Even though we offer tuition-free classes, there are some costs associated with membership in Denton Classical Co-op.
